Blood War: Blood Books Trilogy Box Set (Books 1 – 3)
BLOOD ROSE, book one, synopsis:
There’s no wrath like that of a witch scorned.
Avah Taylor has been given a death sentence: as one of the only spirit users in her coven, Avah has been chosen to wield The Power, the ultimate weapon against the immortal vampire species witches have been at war with for centuries. The Power, given by the gods to one witch of each generation, is considered a great honor, but every witch before has died trying to master this all-too-powerful gift, one that the shell of a mortal can’t contain for long.
On the night of her birth rite, Avah’s coven is attacked, and Avah is left for dead. Confronted with a terrible choice, Avah must decide to either die or save herself by becoming like her enemies. Forced to seek refuge among the very beings she has sworn to kill, Avah vows revenge on those who took her former life from her.
As Avah slowly transitions into a life of blood and war and battles her own feelings for a man she is supposed to hate, she realizes everything she’s been told is a lie.
BLOOD MAGIC, book two, synopsis:
There’s a little witch in us all.
Avah Taylor thought she had already faced the worst: as her coven’s chosen one, destined to receive a power that could kill her, she was forced to make the ultimate sacrifice when she gave up her mortal life to become a vampire, the witches’ greatest enemy. But just when she begins to adjust to her new life, even as she falls in love with her sire, the high priestess of her new coven is seized by Rogue vampires.
Guided by Avah’s visions of the past, present, and future, Avah and the other vampires set out to rescue their priestess, but their journey leads Avah to the discovery that the conspiracy behind her power runs deeper than she ever imagined, a secret that forces her to reconsider, once again, who she can trust.
With her abilities as both witch and vampire, Avah may be the only one who can locate her coven’s high priestess. But as her visions grow increasingly terrifying, and her life is threatened by both enemies and those she once loved most, Avah begins to wonder if she may not have a future at all.
BLOOD PROMISE, book three, synopsis:
Careful what you witch for.
Avah Taylor never wanted to be a vampire, and now, her immortal life is at stake. When tragedy strikes, Avah is cast out of her vampire coven and embarks on a mission to expose the danger of the witchcraft that took her mortal life from her. Her journey takes her around the world, from Washington State to London to Russia, but Avah can’t run from a past deadly mistake that has come seeking revenge.
In this epic conclusion to the Blood Books trilogy, Avah’s questions will finally be answered, but only at a terrible price.
My book review
I’m new to Danielle Rose’s writing, and I was thrilled after reading the Blood War trilogy. Having no prior knowledge about Danielle Rose’s stories I found her to be a very talented storyteller. Avah and Jasik are serious, funny, and extremely sexy with a little biting and lots of devouring, fiery sex. Her sub characters are snarky and funny as they accompany Avah and Jasik on their journey of find that all-encompassing love. You won’t want to miss a word of all three books since they are beautifully written.
In Blood Rose book one in the Blood War Trilogy; we meet Avah a young witch chosen upon her eighteenth birthday to accept the gift of power from the goddess. A war is raging with their old enemy, the vampires. Avah has been training for this day all her life along with hunting vampires. When out patrolling she comes across four very unique vampires, but the leader is the one she couldn’t take her eyes off. The sexual chemistry between the two confused her so she pushed it aside.
Jasik the leader of his Elite Vampire Hunters couldn’t take his Attention off the young witch. He watched in wonder as she fought his fellow hunters, his brothers. She was brave, graceful and gorgeous taking on four much older, wiser and more experienced foe than herself. He saw her again as her coven was being attack by vampire abominations. Jasik witnessed her falter and ran to her side. He couldn’t allow her to die so he took it upon himself to change her into one of them.
In Blood Magic book two in the Blood War Trilogy, Avah is a hybrid, with the magic of a witch and the immortality and strength of a vampire. Avah is struggling with her new found powers, the responsibility and control it takes to harness them, her feelings of betrayal by her coven but especially her mother the High Priestess. She’s also struggling being a vampire, her growing feelings for Jasik and the realization that someone or something is coming for her.
Jasik’s love for Avah is growing stronger every day, but he’s realizing more and more that he can’t give her everything she needs. He watches Avah as she struggles with everything that has happened to her so quickly. Then a stranger arrives with the same radiant, violet eyes and the same unique powers as Avah, except, the stranger can control his powers. Jasik’s insecurities increase.
In Blood Promise book three in the Blood War Trilogy, Avah has a vision of pending doom and is obsessed with trying to figure out how to keep her new family, and Jasik and the Hunters from dying. She wakes with a feeling of unease, and she realizes it was her mother trying to reach out for her help. Avah, Jasik, and the Hunters run back to her witches’ coven, to her home however she’s too late because everyone is dead. She makes a vow to avenge her mother. When they get back to their vampire coven the priestess demands, that Avah must live by her rules but Avah refuses and she is banished from the coven. Jasik and the Hunters chose to follow Avah and walked away from their coven. As a family they made the decision to travel north to upper Washington State to another coven of vampires.
Jasik and Avah’s love deepens and he swears to protect her, especially when they go into battle against rouge vampires. They travel to the witches headquarters in England where they find out who is coming for her and wants her dead. Jasik is worried about Avah but all he can do is try to be there for her and love her with everything he is. Jasik and Avah return back home to prepare for war, they recruit witches, vampires and hybrids to make up her army, but still they are outnumbered at least ten to one.
The unexpected twists kept me so involved that I didn’t want to put it down even when I came to the last page.
